The site has an interesting concept but I doubt it will ever make it due to the model kinda contradicts user-provided content "theory" if you will.

This was the first I had heard of it.

I am a member. It is an invitation only private community, sort of like Linked in for fashion and finance executives. Some media coverage about Elixio:

From Wikipedia:

"Elixio is an exclusive socila network similar to Google+, and Asmallworld. Elixio membership requires an invitation from an existing member.[1] The network currently has over 80,000 members.[2] and allows networking opportunities for executive level professionals."

From Guardian:

"You've probably never heard of it because membership is by invite only. Similar to other elite networks such as aSmallWorld and Decayenne, Elixio is a gated online community that aims to keep the MySpace and Facebook rabble on the other side of the fence"

From yachts-x.com:

"ELIXIO is an exclusive network, and here are the reasons you should consider signing-up for membership:
  • "Elixio.net" is established in 2007. It is largets exclusive social network after Asmallworld..
  • Elixio membership is by invitation-only."

And just like any other invitation-only social media websites, it will soon be public, their website depends on number of members anyway. Without members there isn't any content nor attractions for others to stay and use it.

I am a member of Elixio Network. It is a member's only social network with about 80,000 members. Most members are from the United States but there is a good presence from Europe and South America as well. There are a few articles about it on mashable and guardian if you'd like to find out more about Elixio Network. I hope this helps.
