And now the colors and laces on these dopey looking sneakers (with suits) are getting more vibrant. Can anybody tell Pete H. on FOX NEWS that he looks like an idiot???? Totally loses his integrity.

I stopped by a shoe store a couple of months ago on my way to pick up lunch. Looked at some pairs of these hybrid sneaker/dress shoes.

Could not see myself ever wearing these with tailored clothing or anything else. It would make me feel that I just gave up in life.

Now that being said, if these were the only shoes you have in the closet, what would you were with jeans with untucked shirt?

Since you seem to be an AE guy I’ll set my bias against the brand aside here. You’ve mentioned two scenarios I think. One was chinos and a jacket when your boss comes to the office, the other is the jeans and an untucked shirt.

For the jeans and untucked shirt something like the Higgins Mill in CXL or this suede Chukka would be a better option.

for the office scenario you mentioned with chinos and a jacket the Higgins mill could work again depending on the chinos. But this derby or loafer would work as well.

Hi! Thanks for the post. Actually not an AE guy. I have around three dozens in my rotation with probably 15 are shell. A lot of dead stock pairs in my collection and running out of styles/shoes to add. Well one can say, I got bored :) With the shoes you suggested, I have similar pairs but with brands such C&J, Alden, EG, Carmina etc.

Not gonna lie, I just bought the sneakers because they were $74 new.. Worst case scenario, I can wear them for gardening chores, cleaning cars, or quick run to the grocery.

Thanks again.

Here are some of my pairs for those casual days..

Pretty sure the jingle moks are meant to be novelty holiday shoes. Even then, I'd rather wear those, though not with those laces, just because at least they are at least a coherent shoe.

Great point!

But if you want to pair something nice with a relatively casual outfit, I think the PTB that were posted, or the chukkas, would work really nicely. Oxfords would probably be best reserved for more formal trousers, and probably should not be worn sans a jacket.
