Alternatives to this Paul Stuart winter coat?

I am trying to streamline my wardrobe and buy things that I absolutely need. I found this coat from Paul Stuart that looks lovely. The problem is that I have no idea if Paul Stuart is marked up (most of SF seems to look at them more for suits).The cut looks similar to a car coat except without obvious looking buttons. Does anyone have suggestions on similar or more classic pieces that I might be missing out on in my search? I am willing to spend up to $1K on it. Just not sure if Paul Stuart is the one for me.
