AE vs Wall + Water

Does anyone have any experiences with Wall + Water shoes? I was thinking of buying AE's McGraw Penny Loafers ($335) but recently came across these Wall + Water Penny Loafers for only $189 (originally $345) on Gilt:

• Tonal top-stitch detail
• Notched penny strap at vamp
• Rounded moccasin-stitched toe
• Leather lining with cushioned insole
• Stacked heel with leather sole
• Heel height: 1"

Looking forward on your opinions on this.

Wall+water is Gilt’s in house brand. I haven’t seen or used them. But I think they are garbage.

those wall + water look like ****...

They look as though the sole is glued to the upper, rather than stitched, and they also look like the upper is made of corrected grain leather, rather than calf leather.

Yes, they are cheaper than Allen-Edmonds, but there is a very good reason for that.
