^I never tire of seeing those beauts, Hoit!

Guys, things are looking good! I just got the following message from Jermyn Street:

700

Good morning. I hope you are well.
Thank you for your reply.

I attach the Cordovan sample. The last one is the Cognac( Whiskey) Cordovan.

Our MTO is 12pairs now and the price will be £520.83(without tax) each.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Have a nice day.

Thank you once again for shopping at Crockett and Jones Ltd.
Best regards,

I've replied asking Aki to definitively confirm that enough whiskey shell is available, and whether the GMTO is fixed at 12 pairs, in case we have the great problem of having more than 12 interested. At last count I believe we have about 5 interested individuals, so do please let me know either here or via PM if you are, because I think many like me missed out on the last run! What else should I be asking?

The price quoted was for me, living in the USA, and I assume would need to add 20% VAT for our European friends. I'll be happy to verify this once whiskey availability is 100% confirmed. For now, maybe we should start tossing about details of the makeup we'd like.

For me:

Model: Harlech on 341 last
Welt: Storm welt
Edge: Antique
Sole: Dainite (double leather is OK if majority prefers, but ridgeway is strongly not preferred)
Lacing: All eyelets (speed hooks are OK if majority prefers)
Lining: Open (wouldn't mind something fun like red)

Let's hope this wasn't a false alarm, and that whiskey really is available!

I have a feeling we could get 12! Is there anything else we need to confirm with CJ? It sounds like they can do it. Unless the store has to confirm with CJ factory?

I agree with all that except the speed hooks. No speedhooks! Would honestly be a deal breaker for me.

^ I'm waiting for 100% confirmation that the shell is available. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I feel like it's possible Jermyn Street may not have contacted the factory regarding their stock, since their email responses were so fast. Regarding what other info we need to get them, I posed that question to them in my latest message. I do want to lock down that shell if it's available

Ok. I was thinking the same about communication with the factory.

Sounds very great :lurk:

I would definitely vote for speed hooks, regular eyelets would really be a deal breaker for me; would take me way too long time to get into them, but then again if I would get them I would probably never take them off, lol.
Since shell isn't too good in wet conditions I vote for leather soles (both single and double is for with me) and preferably regular welt, but that's negotiable.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed for you guys and hope that there is enough whiskey and that you get enough folks to jump in.

I haven't had mine long but I think the whiskey is already developing some complexity and depth. It was a little "flat" to me at the beginning but it's looking better and better as it ages. Unless it's just in my imagination? Anybody else on the last MTO notice this?

I have noticed this. The harsh winter has meant I've only really been able to wear them outside a few times, but these things are going to patina-up in no time at all! They really are outstanding boots, and I hope you guys can get another run in.

More pics of these things in action would be appreciated :slayer:

You guys should stop screwing around and do another Harlech in Whiskey. .. Bomb boot and very unique. ... I do like the Whiskey longwing idea on double leather soles. I would jump on that makeup. Love my Whiskey Harlech, best boot in my collection bar none! Thanks sooo much Hoit for honchoing that MTO. Made my 2013, :slayer:shoe and boot wise...

Chipsy... Haven't heard from you in ages! You a tax accountant or something? Glad you're enjoying the boots - would love to see a pic of yours in the wild!

@hoit1981 Have you approached CJ about the scotch grain Giannis yet?

Ha ha Hoit, no just a business owner who feels much like an accountant this time of the year. I'll try and post some images of the boots this weekend. They are so freaking awesome now with a slight patina beginning to develop.

I did send an email to Lauren but she sometimes takes a while to respond. I will send an email to Jermyn St. now... I'll keep you posted - damn this sounds like an awesome boot! Which of the grains would you be interested in? I was thinking of colors like these...
