Hi, sorry for the lack of full scanlations of MEN's EX articles as I initially planned (busy busy). But here is a mini-scanlation from the latest MEN'S EX issue that came out a few days ago. It's on the news that the new C&J (HandGrade line) model Audley III on Last 367 has just arrived. I just translated the main points of the article from Japanese.

from MEN's EX Oct Issue (9/06/11 pub)

"Emergency News: The new evolved model of the classic C&J 'Audley', the 'AUDLEY III' has Arrived!"

and here are my translation of the main difference between Audley and the new Audley III, from page 2

From the article, it seems like Audley III is on sale only in Japan. Also available in Chestut. Priced at 76,550 yen ($994 USD)

3 other models in Last 367 is also available there, including an equally alluring BELGRAVE III

Thanks so much for the information. Not sure if they are for Japanese market only.

Great job. You make really valuable contributions to this forum.

I've always had success with lasts that are made for the Japanese market so hopefully they won't be too hard to track down.

I think that's a Japan only model. AFAIK, East Asians usually have narrower heels and wider balls.

It would be great if they could make more 348/358 last instead of 337. And bring Avebury and other Purple Collections here to US or back to UK...

EDIT: C&J seems to be allocating a lot of their production capacities for foreign markets where they get a fairly high premium than selling in the UK.

Thanks for the comments!

367 is based on 337. Should 'look' no different from 337 when worn. The toe shape remains unchanged, only the latter half is modified for comfort. The article claims that the last 367 is specifically designed for smaller heel of Japanese, which could mean most East Asians in general? I kinda see China in C&J's future

Hmm 367 looks slightly fuller in toe and the forefoot areas compare to 337.

Don't think China is ready yet for western style menswear. Even Taiwan is fairly behind in finer things in life.

It's over $900 USD a pair in Japan, and I sense from reading shoe forums on 2ch that quite a few Japanese are also quite good at tracking down cheaper overseas online outlets :D

nutcracker, you are the man, man.

Great job Nut!

Thanks VRaivio! Oshinex!!

What brand is available in Taiwan? Santoni/Testoni/JL? I guess you can count LV as well...

Anyone have a suggestion on how to obtain the shoe from USA.?
That narrow heel cup would fit my foot well.

I've got my eye out for these too but I'm not sure if they're in stores yet -- I haven't been able to find them on any japanese sites. Hopefully they'll show up on Rakuten or some other large websites at some point. Keep in mind that most places won't stock larger than UK9 or UK9.5. Even if you find them in your size though, the biggest problem from the US is going to be the strong Yen. It puts the price pretty close to $1000.
