    Gilt failing

Just wanted to share more awful gilt experiences. First, all of their home goods are just rebranded wholesale items. I understand you take a risk if you buy something without doing research but I think selling crappy chinese wholesale furniture for a huge markup and rebranding it is very...

Buying first suit - SF opinion needed

I recently went to Brooks Brothers to buy a new suit and got a heavier wool 'winter' suit on sale 75% off. Damn nice looking glen plaid suit too. Sometimes you will get lucky and find these there. If you are really on a budget and are not a huge stickler for craftsmanship or material, just go...

"Can you tell where it's coming from along the tongue? Can you cut up and put one of those white pads people put in shoes to make the instep tighter where the friction is occurring? Or is there not enough room in between the tongue and what it's rubbing on?" The squeak comes from the from the...

    Leather Shoes Squeak: Common Projects

Sorry to start a new thread, but i wasn't getting any answers in Q/A I just bought a pair of Common Projects mids and they have that new leather squeak like crazy. It seems to be caused by the top of the tongue rubbing the inside wall of the shoe when laced snug. The squeack nearly goes way...

    Leather Sole Discoloration: 1000mile

Thanks. I will do some more research into the salt remover. Not sure what it would have in it to remove salt stains, as i believe the stains are actually bleached leather due to the chlorine in salt.

Hello all, I bought some common projects recently and they squeak pretty good when wearing right now. I think it is from the tongue shearing on the sides. Anybody know a good way to relieve this squeak. keep in mind that they are white so a good deal of leather polishes are not an option. Thanks

    Leather Sole Discoloration: 1000mile

I purchased a pair of black wolverine 1000mile boots. I made the mistake of wearing them to work in the winter, forcing myself to walk through snow to get to and from the building and car. The salt appears to have bleached the beautiful brown leather soles on the sides of these boots. I was...
