Envelope embossing and Wax sealing envelops???

My Dad has his wax kit and a monogram that he uses to emboss. I'm hoping he passes it on one of these days. He typically uses his for greeting cards and thank you notes. The kit was actually his grandfather's, who served in the Royal Navy. Sorta makes it cool, although I don't think I'll ever...

Envelope embossing and Wax sealing envelops???

I've done it for years -- usually just the initial of my last name, but really, anything will do. I also handwrite, on very nice embossed paper, with a dip pen. It's extravagant, but shows that you went the extra mile. ~ H Really a dip pen? Very nice. What type of pen?

Envelope embossing and Wax sealing envelops???

Thanks for the response and the difference of opinions is interesting. I don't think I will ever go to wax sealing but it did impress me. I may start embossing my initials just for a little extra extravagance.

Envelope embossing and Wax sealing envelops???

I have been writing hand written letters to several friends for a few years now. I have always used nice stationery. However, recently two of my correspondents have started embossing their envelopes. One simply embosses their initials just above where the envelope is sealed. The other places and...

Why a bow tie's not just for schmucks

I wear a bow tie occasionally just to change things up a bit. Just have to be confident and you can pull it off.

Home Mini Bar on the Cheap

The only reason I have a tap (actually have two) is because I brew and keg my own beer. Unless you are going to do this. Do not bother with it honestly it is a gigantic pain **********. The small glass front fridge with a great selection of brews will be much easier to maintain and I think look...

Not the Usual Topic: Lawyers + Graduate Degrees

Don't really know alot about law seeing as I have spent most of my career avoiding them. I do know a PharmD/JD that works as a patent attorney for pfizer I am not exactly sure what he does but he must do it well. My very limited two cents...

The Pig Adventure Threak - Day by Day - Updated with all four days!!

I'd recommend supplementing that by taking a class or watching videos or something. When it comes to butchery, sometimes you really can't learn just from reading. You need to see it done, to see this joint break, to see that bloodline, etc. Unless that book has a million pictures in it that I...

The Pig Adventure Threak - Day by Day - Updated with all four days!!

Truly incredible. I'd love to spend a few days learning how to properly butcher and preserve a hog. I hope you don't have any problems with customs, it'd be a sin to waste that amazing-looking food. Get a pig and this Book. Thats what I am going to do on several recommendations from friends.

    Ranch dressing

Also Birth Control Pill. We owe them much. Are you talking about that experiment where they gave fake pills to the Mexican volunteers? Or to Carl Djerassi, i thought he was an Austrian-American?

Watching your progression. Reminds me of my childhood. Never made blood sausage. Just made regular sausage and did quite a bit of salt curing. Nothing like a home cured country ham...

    Halo: Reach

Uh... Starcraft? I do enjoy Halo though, I'll pick this one up. Haven't played ODST yet though. Don't waste your time on ODST... really short. No Real boss.. No Real EPIC battle sequences... Highly disappointed.
