Input Needed: What's the condition of these shoes?
I'v got a pair very similar to those(AE Park Avenue). Worn perhaps 5 times tops. The soles are in about the same condition. I paid $325, maybe slightly less at JAB (I signed up for a corporate card). I don't buy used shoes, but if I did, for $65 I'd buy those. They look like they're in pretty...- davidc

Can somebody please explain why square toed shoes/long lasts are so derided around here?
You've mentioned that you've seen these types of shoes on the "Italian style gods", but you've not mention whether or not you like them. So.... Do you like them? Are you looking for a reason not to like them? Just curious.- davidc

Boot questions
I have a couple of different questions about the AE Bayfield and Trickers from STP (which I believe are handmade derbys) The first is regarding the proper fit of shoes. My Trickers when laced up come together and fit almost perfectly. However, my bayfields stay open at the bottom does that mean...- davidc

are you open to AE MacNeil seconds?...call the AE shoe bank..you just missed their sale 2 weeks ago where MacNeils can be had for $210 with shipping (and tax depending your state)...But they should have another sale by early Spring.. I bought a pair of black Imperial Long Wings pre-SF and I don't have a problem with them. Are they up to the quality of AE or Aldens, no. But I don't find them to be bad shoe at all. If I knew then what I know now would I still buy them? Well, let's just say I've been looking at the tan Pebble...- davidc
