    So I went out today

Now that you've step outside the box, what would your "old self" think of your "new self" if you met him in a club or passed each other on the street? Would you even notice him/you? Would you notice the way his clothes fit, whether or not they were cheaply made? Before I started improving...

    So I went out today

I was thinking more on the lines of the movie Awakenings starring Robin Williams. Not having watched the Vampire Diaries or the Twilight series I quess I missed the vampire connection. Thanks for clearing that up.

    So I went out today

Finally we come to the crux of the problem. Now that you've had your sartorial awakening, the world no longer looks the same. Before your interest in clothes, did you dress like the people you now find annoying?

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread - reviews, pictures, sizing, etc...

I got my Dalton's from the Shoe Bank on Black Friday for $149. It might be worth an email or a phone call. Maybe there's a Christmas sale coming up.

    Recent Sartorialist Looks

Not a fan of "those" jeans. But I think with a pair of slim dark wash jeans it wouldn't be half bad.

Input Needed: What's the condition of these shoes?

I'v got a pair very similar to those(AE Park Avenue). Worn perhaps 5 times tops. The soles are in about the same condition. I paid $325, maybe slightly less at JAB (I signed up for a corporate card). I don't buy used shoes, but if I did, for $65 I'd buy those. They look like they're in pretty...

Can somebody please explain why square toed shoes/long lasts are so derided around here?

You've mentioned that you've seen these types of shoes on the "Italian style gods", but you've not mention whether or not you like them. So.... Do you like them? Are you looking for a reason not to like them? Just curious.

at what point does a person become a fashion expert?

When you know more about the subject (any subject) than the people within your sphere of influence, and these people veiw you as the expert, then you are the expert. Further more, I think "expert" is a moving target. When someone enters the group who has more knowledge than you do then they...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part III

Today To be clear, I (the noob) like this a lot. It looks like something I would have worn pre SF. I think the fit is very nice. But post SF I don't think there's enough contrast between the jacket and the pants. So, am or am I not getting it? Without a doubt I've got a long way to go and...

http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/florshei...F-001517B1882A They're on sale IN BLUE for $138 at my local Barney's With jeans? With Chinos? Not at all? With over 1500 posts I have to believe you knew what the reaction would be. I can see the look you're going for and I think those shoes would work...

    Boot questions

I have a couple of different questions about the AE Bayfield and Trickers from STP (which I believe are handmade derbys) The first is regarding the proper fit of shoes. My Trickers when laced up come together and fit almost perfectly. However, my bayfields stay open at the bottom does that mean...

Florsheim - why have they just quit? Seems like they've given up.

I bought a pair of black Imperial Long Wings pre-SF and I don't have a problem with them. Are they up to the quality of AE or Aldens, no. But I don't find them to be bad shoe at all. If I knew then what I know now would I still buy them? Well, let's just say I've been looking at the tan Pebble...
