Antiqueing work in progress with these Sanders Actons. Toecap color is starting to get as planned, now needs more shine.

    Poor man's watch thread

Depends on the current strap. I usually manage with my nails, or a small screwdriver. A bar tool isn't a huge investment either though, and might prove easier than screwing around with screwdrivers.

On being the best dressed man in the room - some observations

I find this very true. Dressing for an occasion, or generally learning to dress better is a process. One can't immediately know what are the best options to wear, sometimes resulting in odd ensembles. Some crude mistakes in the attire might provoke "good natured ribbing" but this is how you...

On being the best dressed man in the room - some observations

I agree with this. Proper attire can be simple, but so many things have impact on it. Some people choose not to follow guidelines, some simply don't know of them. It seems nowadays it's a taboo to tell people what to wear to opera for example. And forementioned resons lead to improper attire...

On being the best dressed man in the room - some observations

As an university student I tend to wear collared shirts, jumpers and chinos on a daily basis. This seems to be unusual, as most people are wearing ragged jeans, slacks, hoodies, even training clothes. I've downplayed the dressing with wearing more casual end of clothes like button-downs and...

OTC Socks for the large calved gentleman

Calf 16" (circumference), shoe uk 7.5 Bresciani M-size never dropped, but is a tad too large on foot, sometimes the heel part (different color) is visible above shoe. Yet to try the s-size

Cleaning sweat/armpit stains on dress shirts

Others stated they use a bar soap as a pre-wash. I usually wash with a "bile soap" or "gall soap", not sure what it is in english, google should help you out. Anyhow, bile-acid is a natural grease remover and in this case it really helps in stain removal. In addition to armpit stains it helps...

Guest. Referred to a previous message of mine, when I got feedback to wear a white shirt instead. Quite happy with this assembly

Went with slightly purple shirt (lilac?) and green tie after all, even though was advised different here. Think I pulled off nicely.

**The Official Shoe Care Thread: Tutorials, Photos, etc.**

Have you tried tongue pads? These won't prevent slipping per-se, but rather work as filling up the empty space your foot might slip towards.

How illegal is it to wear suede brogue oxfords without socks? (With shorts) Hoping not to get beaten as I soon walk out the door to the heat.

Rock Your Socks- show your sock, shoe & pant combos

Matching belt and shoes is a good rule of thumb, which can be broken too. For example you can match it with accessories, such and watch straps. This is also a nice way to go into the wilder side of colours without one thing standing out too much. Having a belt (or a strap) singling out from an...

Sunglasses MEGATHREAD - all sunglass questions here please

How is Etnia Barcelona as a brand? Looking for polarized acetate sunglasses, but haven't come across these before. Opticstores in finland carry either cheap or fashion brands, or ray ban. Seen serengeti in couple stores, but asking price is huge compared to online. Etnia seemed to have many...

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

Sqeaks come right before foot leaves the ground. Leaves me thinking its from the rubber sole, or the air puffing out from the tight toe-cap area. Is there anything to do to prevent/ test these?

It's suede, so only added a spray. Insides didn't feel dry at all, so did npt put anything there. Will try though.
