"Cleaning' your denim with an ozone generator

Open mic night on Style Forum, eh? Good job I bought tomatoes! I said "avoid washing my denim as much as possible" not "I wait until they get up and walk to the washing machine themselves" fool!

"Cleaning' your denim with an ozone generator

Like most people on here I avoid washing my denim as much as possible and ain't really too taken by that "Put em in the freezer to get rid of the bacteria" approach that some like but was looking around the other day and came across ozone generators and how they are used to neutralize odor at...

Tailoring the waist of jeans - The definitive thread.

Thank you. I'm actually thinking of just trying this method myself: http://www.colorfulcanary.com/2012/10/make-it-monday-easy-way-to-take-in.html As it looks like it will do just what is required plus it can be reversed.

Tailoring the waist of jeans - The definitive thread.

There are a lot of perspectives on this ranging from mortification at the thought to cries of "buy the right size, doofus" all the way upto "I did it and they fit perfect" so in the midst of all this confusion I turn to you, yes you, and seek your perspective on this. Got a pair of jeans that...

Raw Denim aka How the heck am I supposed to wear this?

I haven't yet, am looking at a couple of different styles but want to check how hard/easy they are to wear before buying them.

Raw Denim aka How the heck am I supposed to wear this?

First escapade in the world of raw denim and how the heck are you supposed to break it in? I'd avoided it before due to watching a friend whose colour leaked all over the place, destroying couches and shoes with the hue rubbing off and the huge amount of upkeep/input/care required in the first...

    Tailoring a waxed cotton jacket?

Looks like tailoring isn't an option due to the level of skill required as its virtually remodelling the entire jacket. Time to hit the gym and whack an extra inch on my shoulders instead which is no biggie. *ponders how his 48 jackets will fit when he's swole* :plain:

    Tailoring a waxed cotton jacket?

Yup. If I were to take that approach I'd dry clean it first to remove all of the wax as that way would at least ensure an even finish and then I'd rewax it myself after the treatment but still it seems like a risky proposition as it feels like it could kill the finish quick smart. I had a look...

    Tailoring a waxed cotton jacket?

It is what it is, the jackets fit isn't that bad and can be accentuated if I'm wearing a thick jumper underneath but I prefer a more snug fit. This site has a few ideas on how to shrink it: http://thebondexperience.com/can-you-shrink-a-barbour-jacket/ But it seems like a disaster waiting to...

    Tailoring a waxed cotton jacket?

Picked up a waxed cotton jacket in size 50 as it was the only one left in stock when I'm more of a 48. The jacket fits as you'd expect and is a bit loose around the shoulders, arm length and the torso and I'd like to get these aspects tailored for a perfect fit. Is this viable or even doable...

New Boots: Break-in Discomfort or Remedy in Order?

The aim is not to cook them but apply a moderate amount of heat from a sensible distance to allow the material to flex. Personally I tend to spend quite a bit of time when doing this and it works really well as it achieves the same fit just without the pain.

New Boots: Break-in Discomfort or Remedy in Order?

Personally I like the tip of wearing an oversized pair of socks and then heating up the discomfort point with a hairdryer as you move your toes around in order to customize the stretch/fit of the shoe before applying some conditioner to the leather. Other people yelp in discomfort at the very...

Speaking of the quality of SLP shoes could I ask the knowledgeable among you to check out these chelseas: more pics here. I've been looking for a good affordable alternative to the SLP chelseas and these are the closest ones I've found in terms of silhouette as the SEF and other highly...

SLP Chelsea expert? Step right in...

I've been looking for a good alternative to the SLP Chelsea as a) they are super expensive and b) I'm not a fan of those stacked heels as they just don't vibe with me. I've managed to procure a set of shoes that I'm absolutely blown away by in terms of the style and was wondering what you lot...

Fully agree. Whilst the slps may be 10/10 for looks they are 7/10 for comfort which I suppose is a given thanks to the super slim silhouette and leather soles. Only thing with those crepe soles is they lose a lot of their looks as they are worn.
