    College budget Chicago wardrobe

Well, good footwear lasts a while, and the higher price for outerwear, the warmer/less bulky it is. But that's probably my plan. I'll go get a few polos that fit me (I like them, but grew out of my old ones, and never cared enough to replace them), and probably get a few sweaters and such. I...

    College budget Chicago wardrobe

Ah, save on most stuff, and get the best for outwear and footwear. That does make sense, I guess. I'll look into it.

    College budget Chicago wardrobe

The second one is just for formal stuff, and I've already gone through suit stuff and such. The first one seems really pricy. 300+ for a scarf, 800 for boots, etc. is not within my budget. Great suggestions, but not really within my price range right now.

    College budget Chicago wardrobe

Hey, all of my clothes currently consist of a few jeans (fairly dark), two shorts, and t-shirts. I'm going to college this fall up in Chicago, and I live in SC, so I'm not used to the cold. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips for affordable, comfortable college basics, along with cold...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

I get that, but most of it wasn't constructive. It was *facepalm* or, "for the love of god don't" or other things that simply said, don't do that. I still don't know why that would be bad, because no one explained it. I guess the problem was that no one was explaining, just commenting to comment.

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

VinnyMac, I meant the quality as compared to what you would all recommend. What percentage of the population will think "That looks horrible," if I'm wearing a well-tailored but not great quality suit? And as to getting upset, I only got upset at quadcammer providing zero help, and others...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Archibald, I know that they're not the best, but there's no need to continue to provide no help at all, when I'm getting my stuff free, and didn't read ask for comment on what he commented on. I'll definitely worry more about quality when I'm buying at a price, but quality doesn't matter when...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Quadcammer, I'm sorry is my dad's 4 year unemployment, and mom's social security disability too low class for you? I don't exactly have money, which is why in getting a free suit...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

VinnyMac, that is, in fact, the same model they use for every portly suit. Cataan, I'll make sure I get 100% wool. Thanks for the suggestion. DrZeus, thank you. At least I'm not going to show up with a pepto bismol pink vest, or some other horrifyingly bright color, haha. And whoever gave the...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Quadcammer, you've really been helpful. Really, your advice has been eye-opening. Any suggestions of a better suit there then? The Jhane Barnes Medium Gray Suit is 100% wool, but it's $600. Is that worth the extra $100? Right now you're just throwing around unhelpful, and ever so eloquent...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

So, does this look good enough for a first suit? It's an Abboud Charcoal Modern Fit jacket. I believe (although I'd have to check in person) that it is half-canvas, but it really doesn't matter for a first suit, for free, as far as I'm concerned. It's flat-front, and 94% wool, 6% polyester...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Unfortunately, the Jack Victor's comparative quality is evident since they cost 800, and it's only free up to 500. The only one that isn't 800 is a clearance gray checkered modern fit for 400.

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

I'm not getting pinstripes for the suit. I would save that for way later. I just wanted them because it will help make me look less... Portly to put it in suit terms :-D

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

One last point about the tux, if I look back and the tux is the only thing I think "what the hell was I thinking?" about, then I'll consider it a pretty good prom.

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

I'm sorry, I wasn't quite aware of the rule that 17 year olds were supposed to be perfectly fashionable at prom, rather than, I don't know, having fun. I think it looks good, my date agrees. Good enough for me. Now if you don't have any input on what suit would be the best choice as a FREE...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

MrDaniels, I get that, but not great quality for free is still better than nothing. Plus, I believe I said that since tailoring isn't included, I'd be getting that done elsewhere, so their tailoring doesn't matter. Quadcammer and Archibald, the pinstripes make me look less overweight, and I...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Archibald, I'm not asking about prom wear, I was just saying that I'm getting a free suit for giving other people $40 bucks off on rental tuxes. What I'm wearing is a tuxedo... MrDaniels, so what you're saying is I shouldn't take a free $500 suit, as an entry-level suit, as a college...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

Joseph Abboud and Jones New York were the two I was looking at, for the most part. I'll was planning on doing gray, because I figured it was a good basic color to get first. I'm definitely going for the suit. It's a much better value. $500 suit for free as long as it lasts vs. $140 tux for one...

    Introduce yourself.

I'm a senior in High School in Greenville, SC, heading to Northwestern University next year. In general, I just wear dark jeans, or shorts that are kind of cargo-ish, and then whatever t-shirt is in my closet. My shoes are usually Toms, or Boat Shoes (hoping to get Sperry's), although I also...

    Best Suit at Men's Wearhouse

I'm a High School senior, and I'm getting my tux rental for prom from Men's Wearhouse. There's a program where you recommend 5 people and get the rental free, or $500 for a suit. Since the tux rental is temporary, and only ~$120, I figure I'll go for the suit. I currently have a cheap sport...
