Are you kidding? Other than a horse what accoutrements would go with these boots? Any nice gray trousers or good denim, no? (Not tucked in!...so 85% hidden) Maybe the toe is too high... Just called up, and he said that I should "definitely bring them in" as soon as I can so he can take a look at them. He said that maybe he could strip them down and start the finish from scratch or antique them (which might be nice). So maybe this was just a bad skin, because he sounded...- WorldwideEnt

How are they covered by your insurance? No deductible? Smart enough to earn enough to afford $1700 shoes. But not smart enough to think you need to take these shoes back? Smart enough to know when I need to find out some more information...which is what I've done. Thanks.- WorldwideEnt

So I did a little experiment... On a very inconspicuous part of the tongue that gets covered up, I put a small piece of masking tape and then removed it immediately. The finish came right off with the tape! This can't be normal!- WorldwideEnt

what concerns me is that these boots dont look anywhere bespoke, especially the sole edge hints of a cheaper made sole and the leather and polishing job as well. Sorry...could you elaborate on that? So should I have him fix them by removing the coating and dyeing them, or should I just get him to re-make them with different leather? They're actually VERY comforatable, and they seem well made. Is it possible there was just a bad batch of leather?- WorldwideEnt
