Although it might look like it's designed for fashion runways, the Alpha N-3B W3X Parka is actually optimized for off-the-beaten path excursions in unrelenting inclement weather. Much more than just a pretty parka, the N-3B W3X is a cold-Wx coat with an impressive history of impeccable polar performance. A derivative of the decades-old USAF N-3B - itself rated for temperatures as low as -60F (-51C) - this modernized civilian version is equipped with all the enviable attributes of the original as well as several stylish upgrades that ensure you'll look great - and stay warm - all winter long.
For maximum protection against winter winds and perilous precip, the W3X Parka features a waxed cotton rip-stop shell that prevents the elements from penetrating its exterior. It also boasts a full-length zipper with a button-and-loop storm flap that both preserve body heat and block out frigid air. When it comes to storage space, the Alpha N-3B has dual snap-close external chest pockets; a pair of snap-flap outside pockets; two spacious interior pockets; and Alpha's characteristic utility/pencil/pen pocket on the left sleeve. The jacket's adjustable hood is lined with faux mouton and trimmed with attractive, removable faux fur. Additionally, the parka features storm cuffs, reinforced elbows, and reflective patches on the back of each sleeve.
