Problem with these is, there are better looking boots for less money, and better hiking boots for less money.
Would like to see what you consider better hiking boots for less money?Problem with these is, there are better looking boots for less money, and better hiking boots for less money.
It's subjective of course, but I would choose a number of specialist hiking brands over the Tricker's. I do lots of very long hikes, ranging from 30-50km so value my walking boots being lightweight. I'd probably avoid GYW construction for this reason. I don't really care much for looks with hiking boots as for me they are technical, utilitarian footwear - tools not jewels!Would like to see what you consider better hiking boots for less money?
I don't mind how they they look although there are details I would change. The triple stitching is a nice touch but I wish Tricker's had made them a wholecut and offered an all black colourway.
My nomination for alternative leather hiking boots goes to Amundsen's Mountain Mucks; with or with gaiters!

OK. I know nothing about specialist hiking brands, any chance of posting some examples of the brands/which models you would choose to wear? It's subjective of course, but I would choose a number of specialist hiking brands over the Tricker's. Of course, will PM so not to clog the Tricker's forum with irrelevant posts.OK. I know nothing about specialist hiking brands, any chance of posting some examples of the brands/which models you would choose to wear?
I think having the "gotta catch em all" philosophy to boots, we are 100% in their target demo.I’d think that as others like Viberg have made hikers that’s possibly a trigger. More for the city rambler but I could be wrong: I only own a pair for dog walking in winter and am not the target demo.
Take it you've already ordered yours.I think having the "gotta catch em all" philosophy to boots, we are 100% in their target demo.
Ha. TBH, those have zero appeal to me. If I was to actually do any hiking I’d get some real technical hiking boots.Take it you've already ordered yours.
I live in an area that is tailor made for hiking. Alas, I am not!Ha. TBH, those have zero appeal to me. If I was to actually do any hiking I’d get some real technical hiking boots.
Take it you're close to the lakes - this is criminal.I live in an area that is tailor made for hiking. Alas, I am not!
