Why not buy the actual authentic Baracuta? Oi Polloi has them for a reasonable price. J Crew carries them for an unreasonable one.

Incorrect. Dean didn't wear a Baracuta in Rebel. He allegedly wore a modified McGregor Anti-Freeze (interior lining dyed black), although the costume designer for Rebel stated that he made the jacket himself, which was apparently modeled after the McGregor Anti-Freeze.

Again, the notion that Dean wore a Baracuta is a fallacy and certainly NOT "the real deal." Dean's jacket was nylon. Baracuta is cotton. Also notice the flap pockets unique to a Baracuta are not present on Dean's jacket. McGregor Anti-Freeze is a more likely candidate.

Comparision with a Baracuta. Note the button flaps and stretch knits at the wrist on the Baracuta, not present on the Rebel jacket. Note also the Rebel jacket had a nylon elastic waistband, not a knit waistband as seen on a Baracuta G9.

At the risk of my sterling reputation I will post this observation in order for the few whom may look for this type of jacket ...
I have the Toys McCoy "Rebel" (2003 season?) jacket as well as a period red "Sportscaster" nylon jacket that differs only in lining, large tooth "Crown" aluminum zipper and elastic gathers that do not cover the very back of the jacket.
Some things to look for if you want to search for an accurate "Rebel" jacket.

One piece back
Twelve stitch per inch construction (MIL SPEC)
Brass "Talon" small tooth #5 zipper with rectangular pull on the slider
DARK BROWN alpaca lining and green flannel cotton sleeve lining
Two button (darker red) cuff buttons
Short body length
Reverse opening slant pockets - your hand pushes back the flap and then goes forwards into the pocket - (helps keep keys etc.in the pocket)
Thin red DuPont nylon shell
Two inch soft point collar

The jacket was based on the gang jackets that were suggested by the local Los Angeles gang members who were called in for wardrobe authenticity for the movie. The wardrobe department made two or three jackets that were reverse engineered from the gangs jacket..
Happy hunting!

If anyone cares to check it out then watch the movie Rebel Without a Cause and pause the film as James Dean hands over his red jacket to a younger gang member. If you scroll carefully you will recognise the McGregor label in the neck of the jacket.

If you’re willing to pay $300 plus then you’ll find lots of Real McCoy’s replicas of the McGregor Antifreeze ‘rebe’l jacket on eBay.
