For the love of god think of your unborn grandchildren, will they have nothing worthwhile to inherit from you?

My substantial debt and bad karma maybe? 😂

Too late anyway. Here at a beach restaurant last week are my Taos Seed with swapped out Tropic gradient lenses (courtesy of Aya at JMM Hollywood who did a fantastic job cutting the new tropic lenses just right!)

followed by my crazy cocker donning my Lacy Kinney (25 release!) at the same beach restaurant a couple days ago...

and concluding with beachfront sunset dining earlier today with my Molino Marlboro, re-lensed with "Alpine" blue (3-color) gradient by the inimitable Janelle at JMM Venice

Blessed with a red reflected sunset this evening, how could I not pay homage to nature's artistry with the human artistry of these Marlboro with the Alpine blue gradient, Janelle-cut lenses?

I'll be the first to submit my JMM card to the SF authorities for bringing these beauties to the sand and sea but all these frames are too stunning NOT to enjoy in mother nature's stunning locales! 🤩🤩🤩

[also inadvertently a shameless plug to power-up your old JMM frames by having the stock lenses swapped out and cut by the experts at JMM galleries. Both my Taos Seed and Molino Marlboro leveled-up significantly with these JMM expert-advised, lens upgrades]

I’m prematurely ending my punitive measures of this electronic bulletin board’s recent transgressions.

JessBob: Looks like a great vacation. I hope you’re enjoying it. You mentioned the Marlboro Molinos have a 3 color gradient. I’m intrigued. I have some double gradient fashion tinted lenses that I love. Care to share the details on these? The tint doesn’t show well in the photograph, but I’ll bet they’re grrrrrrreat!

Yes, JMM galleries sell a few gradient tints, including their "Tropic" and "Alpine" gradient tints. Both of these tints have three colors. I believe the Alpine gradient that replaced the Marlboro stock lenses have blue-grey-yellow/pink(?) though I'm not very good with identifying colors, as I completely botched the earlier question trying to describe London colorway. Tropic seems to be red/orange/yellow(?). In both cases, the JMM specialists at the JMM galleries assured me that the frame sizes of both the Taos and Molino would allow them to include all three gradient lens colors if cut appropriately. In smaller frames, I assume they can only get two colors in.

Sorry to hear that brother, glad I could cheer you up even a little! Feel free to DM me if you need to take a load off
Thanks dude, I appreciate it.

I think I'll be ok. It cheered me up quite a bit because I love absurdity.

I make sure to journal and meditate and rant to myself, that way I feel less dependent on ranting to others.

If I absolutely need to, I will DM you.

That Taos Seed looks so good, even though I have doubts about those red lenses. I tend to keep the original ones.

I wonder why JMM has released so few models in this gorgeous colourway, as well as Vintage Tort, Marigold, Ash...

After a long wait due to customs clearance I finally got my Richard. I'm quite happy with it, although the demo lenses are pretty useless. I'll have to replace them.

I think the frame could work well as opticals.
I was tempted to get the Richard, but they don’t quite meet my threshold given JMM prices over last year or two. Plus, I don’t think that frame is for the fat faced among us such as myself. Enjoy them! It looks like an excellent frame.

The three-color gradient for the Tropic lens isn't exactly "red" though. I'd say with this specific cut it's about 25% red at the top, 50-60% orange in the middle, and 25-15% yellow. Depending on where the lens was cut on the Tropic original, it could have easily been 40+% red or more, which is why I think Aya at JMM Hollywood gallery did such a fantastic job walking a tight rope

When heading to JMM Hollywood to explore the possibility of swapping out the stock lenses, which seemed kinda boring to me and I still retain and can swap in at any time, I really had only one theme in mind: summer vibe, trendy beach club setting, early afternoon through stunning sunset.

Based on those particular specifications, Aya helped me narrow down to two similarly red/orange lenses and I opted for the Tropic, which I now love and know was the right choice (the other if IIRC was red-to-pink?). The Seed+Tropic really pop beautifully in an environment already full of peak summer beach party energy, even though it's still only Spring.

That being said, there were other specialists at the JMM gallery who might agree with your red reluctance. Some initial suggestions were a darker blue, gray, or even brown-ish lens. But once I made clear the particular setting for these frames -- summer vibe, beach club, mid-day to sunset -- those earlier color recommendations easily fell out of favor in lieu of fiery or sunset orange/red.

Thanks. Actually with a lens width of 55mm they're on the wide side, but of course everything is relative.
