A friend recently completed his PCS to Texas. Wandered into a Spec's looking to stock the house til TMO arrives, and behind some california red blends (i know gross...california? Ew) he noticed an anomalous bottle. Asked if i wanted this "slightly larger than usual one".

Yep. Yep i sure do.

What a bro. Anywho. Arrived today.

I think this is one of the all time greats. This bottle cost $65 and easily beats out many of the “usual suspects”

I couldn't agree more, but guys like you and I are fortunate it doesn't fall into the overhyped/overplayed bourbons, since the minute it does, these won't be anywhere near as readily available as they are now!

Picked up a bottle of the Booker's Springfield Batch over the weekend. At $99, this is a relative bargain, and I'd buy another if I could. Booker's is an example if what happens when a bourbon is discovered though, since I usually only see this (when it even IS available) at 50% or more markup, which is typically the very upper limit of what I'd pay for this one

So to me, Booker's is Booker's and the variations that I can detect at least, are almost non-existent lol. That said, if I were to stack the 3 of them, I'd probably say my preference is Mighty Fine.
