How dramatic is the button down collar IRL? It looks pretty large in some photos. Does it look strange without a jacket?

The OCBD actually looks stranger with a jacket imo, because the collar band is so high. I tend to unbutton the collar buttons with a jacket so the collar spreads and slumps a bit more.

I’ve got half a dozen, and they grow on you.

Just watch out for some inconsistencies in sizing. I’ve got some that are several cms slimmer, but also longer, than the measurements online. I usually ask Andrew, AI’s online sales guy, to check before sending now and he is eternally obliging.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing an MTO since I need longer sleeves. Do you happen to know if the sizing more consistent with MTO orders?

This!
I’ve had to let go of a shirt that I bought together with another one on the same day and wasn’t smart enough to properly try on - while the first fit perfectly, the second was 4cm shorter and kept escaping my trousers.
Proper annoying but the shirts are really good and I have them measured as well before they send them from now on as well.

I just received two shirts via MTO, since I need longer sleeves. Both are spot on at my requested 68cm.

Any of y'all able to compare AI's dress shirts to Berg & Berg? Some of those Zephyr's are mighty intriguing, but I am properly spooked that they'd be similar in sizing.
My B&B shirt is lovely, but cut soooooo slim through the upper block

I cannot speak to a Berg & Berg comparison, but IMO Anglo's shirts have a very unique cut.

Anglo has a high armhole and a trimmer arm (compared to something like S&M), but they are quite full through the body/waist otherwise. It creates an interesting (and seemingly Italian effect) of having a trim shirt with a relatively relaxed fit throughout. Billowy but not sloppy, perhaps?

I like the zephyr as well, but RTW sleeves are too short for me (I wear a 16.5). So that's something to watch out for (although their Size Chart is now showing spread collar's at 65.5cm, which is a change).

The pictures are Martin in the zephyr make them look quite trim in the waist. In my experience, this picture is more representative of how they fit in the waist.

Ahhhhh cheers. Trimmer arm sounds extremely dicey for me. Berg's shirt I have is TIGHT on the upper arms. Spier's are I'd say snug. Not tight, but enough to feel tension when I pronate my wrists. Trimmer than that @ $200 + shipping is probably a no go for me.

Well, if it's any help, I'm 6'1" 198lbs and athletically built. I'm comfortable in their 16.5.

I can wear Spier Contemporary, but their Slim fit is definitely too slim. I think Anglo works for me because they also use much lighter fabrics. Spier's Oxfords (Italian and 2-ply) are very heavy by comparison.
