Saw a hobo in SF once in a motorized wheelchair. He had like a 5-ft high stack of stuff piled onto the back of his wheelchair all wrapped up in bungees. Almost ran over me while I was crossing the street one morning and he was crossing the other way.

Next day I popped in Peets and saw him inside working on his laptop. I heard a loud buzzing and when I looked more closely, I noticed there was a power generator in the back of his chair. Maybe the wheelchair recharges the thing. Pretty high tech for a hobo. Or who knows, in SF, he could have been some Internet tycoon.

There's a fella stands in the underpass near Tower Hill station in London. Immaculate in a suit, with a gold piggy bank. I think the recession's hitting though, because he's started twanging a little pink guitar.
