I have seen alot more double breasted suits lately but the lapels look a little to thin for that style. I know when double breasted suits come into style the lapels usually widen (20's to 30's) (early 80's to mid 80's) but the trend of lapels on sb suits seems to be getting more narrow. So where do you see this heading?

BTW glad to be back and thanks for the help and satorial evoloution SF put me through.

I guess you can include the 1950s in that cycle when you think of some of Cary Grant's suits. It is an interesting point about lapels widening when DBs re-enter the cycle.

Like the Budda, however, I preach you escape the delusory world of the endless fashion Wheel and go with what suits your body shape ie Style Nirvana not Fashion-Delusion.

Skinnier for the moment in off the rack, not necessarily so in custom. I notice guys buying custom suits who aren't afraid to proportion them correctly to their body. Thus for larger guys often times the wider lapel looks better.

A lot of guys don't like DB's for this reason - off the rack just isn't always complimentary. DBs are a lot like hats; if the proportion and fit isn't correct they really look terrible. If it's properly sized and suited to the wearer they look great.
