I have that exact pair I think, along with another silver framed modified aviator from MJ. Great glasses, high quality polarized lenses.

Very true! And may I add that if you are going to buy sunglasses, buy them froma sunglasses maker, for consistent quality companies like WileyX, Rayban and of course Maui Jim provide the best lenses. I have read repeatedly that low quality sunglasses are bad for your eyes, can someone please shed some light on this issue for us? I personally wear seven different pairs, 1 Rayban, 2 Native, 1 WileyX and 2 Maui Jim.

I've heard the same thing. I read somewhere that some low-quality, chinese made glasses actually magnified the UV rays reaching the eye vs. blocking them. Of course this could be total bs, but I suppose it's plausible. Where are the mythbusters when you need them?

It is true that cheap sunglasses lenses can increase your eyes' exposure to harmful UV rays. This is because they block enough light to cause your pupils to dilate, yet do not block the UV rays, so you end up with a larger dose of UV exposure than you would have experienced with no sunglasses at all.
I am also a big fan of Maui Jim sunglasses. Their lenses are very sophisticated and many of their designs are versatile enough to be worn both in active outdoor sports and in normal day to day life. They have a fine prescription lens option as well, even offering stealth bifocals.

I'd like to go on the record right now and say that this thread in no way states that Maui Jims can stop a bullet.

That's a great story though. Lucky son-of-a-gun.
