If a mid-brown wing-tip balmoral is 'close enough' then there are countless choices. What about something like the C&J Drummond:

These are just as close to the original shoes as the Bally's are. Probably closer in fact as the colour is less different.

I agree, those Bally's are Very expensive at $450.
I understand where ur coming from, but like I said, I am looking for something similar, since the shoes from the movie are probably next to impossible to find.
I have looked at countless plain toe derby's and found nothing close in shape or color, and I came across those Bally's and thought they looked close enough, to me at least.
As far as shoe knowledge goes, I am here to learn. :)

In that case... I really think you could do much better than those Bally for $450

These aren't an identical match to the shoes, but they are nice shoes and maybe something you'd be interested in:

If you want that pointy styling, you may also want to look at some Italian brands like Berluti, Bontoni, Borrelli, Santoni, Sutor Mantellassi (but you run the risk of getting pricier as they're less readily avialable on sale IMO) like some of these:

Sutor Mantellassi Wingtips

I find that www.shopthefinest.com has some good deals on Italian brands, you might want to check there.

You got it!, and who cares they are not the same shoes?, you obviously seem pretty obsessed about the EXACT SHAPE of the shoes, who cares they are not bluchers?, or the same color?...
You say they don't have "ANYTHING IN COMMON"... are you taking the piss?, from a distance, I see no little difference.

As far as shoe knowledge goes, I am here to learn. :)

Your first quote shows that the second quote is disingenuous.

This is styleforum, where we do in fact obsess over what the exact styling of the shoe is. If your criteria is "reasonably pointy brownish leather dress shoe", then yes - they are similar. If you are looking to go further than that in terms of what type of shoe it is, they are not similar at all.

Thank you my friend, I found some shoes that fill what I am looking for, they look amazing, they are $560 tho...

Here is the link, http://www.shopthefinest.com/p-39324-santoni-caramel-brown-shoes-size-105-us-95-uk.aspx

And I am attaching some pics. I think they tick all the boxes as far as color and shape, what is the exact name of this style?

This is my first post so...Hi Everyone!

I skimmed through this thread and would like to add my input.
Those shoes that Ryan Gosling is wearing in that picture are made by Givenchy but aren't wingtips. I know this because I have a pair of Givenchy's that look almost identical to those and are from the same collection but they're black. I purchased them from a boutique in Los Angeles called Confederacy along with an Albert Hammond Jr. suit (which is the same suit designer who designed the suit that Gosling is wearing in the op's pic.) I have been looking for the carmel colored Givenchy's that are in the movie since it came out but have been unsuccessful in finding them; however I do really like a lot of the shoes that you guys have posted up as alternatives. The op posted another question about the shirt in the picture, the shirt was made by a French designer named Gossuin and I've only seen his shirts for sale at a small boutique in New York. For an alternative, you can go to Brooks Brothers and they will custom make you a shirt like the one in the movie and it will look pretty close. Hope this helps and I'm also posting a picture of my Givenchy's for reference (you can see they have the same design on the side of them as the ones Gosling wears.)

The teardrop broguing on the side is indeed a match. You have a very good eye Ziminskas.

So, I have spent a lot of time searching for a good, pointy, thin soled, carmel colored shoe and I think I may have found one. I just can't seem to figure out if the shoe I'm looking at has a rounded toe, or a squared one. It's the Barker Cortona and is a "shape 455."

I'm a big fan of the color and shape from the picture but am wondering if anyone knowns what the toe is like. Thanks for all the hlep.

I've been searching informations about the shoes for like a week, I tried every key word, I even called Givenchy in Faubourg Saint Honoré (Paris), to try to get some other pictures or references, but I have nothing ! Only things on the internet about them are interviews of Dayna Pink saying the shoes are Givenchy Wingtips, the EW.COM photo, and this thread.
If we didn't have pictures of Ziminskas' shoes with the same teardrop on the side and the Givenchy box, we wouldn't be even sure they were from Givenchy ...
Even the black version which has a different shape doesn't appear in any visual of any past collection !

I've always managed to find what I was looking for, or at least, informations, but on this one I don't get why there is absolutely nothing...

So now, here is my interrogation :
Is it possible that the Givenchy shoes he's wearing are one of a kind? Like made on order for this movie ...
Or is that possible that they asked a shoe maker to design a shoe based on the Givenchy model?

I know what you think about this shoes and this movie, I read the whole thread, I don't necessarily want to buy them, but this lack of informations disturbs me (I can't sleep !) (yes, I'm weird, so what? :D)

Thank you. :)

Guys, just a quick update from my part, I bought these
http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main...DER<>folder_id=2534374306418055&bmUID=juBBMiK
And I absolutely LOVE THEM, they are stunning in person!, wore them once, and got a ton of compliments, I am very happy with my decision.

The craftsmanship on these shoes is superb, the simplicity of the style is what I like the most, so clean.

Testoni...

Also I disagree with styleforum being used as a free personal shopper service for people to find items they can't be bothered looking for to then never post here again having been given what they want. Jus' saying.

I thought I shared what my final purchase was, I really appreciate all the advice I got in here, wether the criticism was constructive or not, that's beside the point now, I surprised myself looking at things other than the styling shoe, such the build quality, leather quality, and I have to say, these Testoni's ticked all the boxes for me, otherwise I would have returned them to saks.

If Testoni ticks all the boxes in quality for you, you are setting low standards.
