I always strike:
2) Lawyers (sorry guys, it's true that you know to much)
I see a lot of that as well. Hell, the last time I was called there was another attorney in our little group of jurors. He asked to be excused via the "hardship" exemption ... the judge simply noted that he was an attorney and excused him without further question.
While I would not characterize the practice of law in general as a "hardship", I found that little episode quite amusing.
[NB at that time the attorneys had not used their challenges yet, so I'm sure had he stayed in the jury pool one of the attorneys would have used one to get him off the jury.]
