What is wrong with Brioni?

Brioni opened up a new shop ("Atalier") in Frankfurt, by appointment only. They must have a positive outlook for the German market (or some profits to write off).

Stores like this are dumb. The focus seems always to be the atmosphere rather than the product. Sure, shops like this are a nice place to spend time, but similar one's that I've been to have had limited inventory, which defeats the purpose of a comprehensive place to shop for a brand. All that said, I hope Brioni does well.

reminds me of an AP house (watch brand) - I think it's a cool idea. also, when shopping at these brands most people don't care about a good deal or if they could find some obscure tailor that could do it for 1/4 of the cost.

Makes me wonder who those appointment only ateliers are aimed at? A couple of years ago I spoke with a high-end tailor that does bespoke stuff for a lot of rich people - he said that for the most expensive stuff, he'd often travel to where the clients were, as they were obviously extremely busy individuals. Fittings would happen at their homes, office, and similar.

But then again, lots of bankers in Frankfurt - so maybe there's enough to go around.

I guess it depends on the area but where I'm from we don't have any so I've always been wearing Brioni or HF although even if we did I think I'd still go with them because I've heard bespoke takes weeks if not months

LOL... weeks. Months if not years depending on how often you can see the tailor. Cifonelli took me like 1.5 years. Huntsman was relatively quick in about a year. Eric Jensen/Gallo took like 2 years but that was because of Covid.

oh damn. From my experience customers seem to like the ones I already have and I absolutely love them so I think I'll stick with my HF and Brioni suits

I really like their aesthetic as of late. I visited their shop in Istanbul last year and was a fan of many pieces
