I don’t hate bow ties but I do think it’s definitely unconventional (incidentally if it’s going to be hot in Hawaii at your wedding would suggest against a waistcoat). I like the houndstooth tie you posted.

Gotcha! Seems like consensus is a regular tie (no bow-tie) and houndstooth or grenadine. I'll get both because both will be nice to have.

Thanks for the advice!

I've never seen a person wear a wedding tie in real life, and I doubt you'll see anybody else at your outdoor Hawaiian wedding. Wear the wedding tie if you want, but honestly, wear whatever you want. Almost anything will pair well with a navy suit and white shirt. Or don't wear a tie at all if you don't want to.

What is your dress code? Honestly, considering the setting, if your dress code doesn't say "black tie" or "formal attire" or "please, for the love of god, wear a tie," or something like that, there will be guys who don't even wear suits. Which is not to say that you should dress down for your wedding, but that you should wear what you want, wear what makes you feel good... even if that's a bowtie, which... yeah, you do you.

Congratulations.
