Really? That's 3.6 meters, and I get 3-pieces from that. Is it a really large check or something hard to match?

BTW, FWIW, I think you're crazy to do this mutt, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

I can imagine an Italian on top and English on bottom being quite fun, indeed.

And a Foothreak. We should have a money line as to how many pages this threak hits by 5 EDT. I'm guessing 6, and 17 if Vox and Bull start posting pictures of Italians on top and English on bottom.

Personally, I think it's a great idea if you're willing to go trough the trouble. I love three piece suits, but although there may be good examples of Italian origin, I think it is not what they do best. In many ways, that is why I am reluctant to go to an italian tailor: I'd like most of my suits to be three pieces to have the option, that's why I use an English tailor. I suppose I could use Italian tailors for odd jackets and trousers, but I haven't gone that far yet.

The only question is: why not have an English or US-tailor do the whole suit?

I'm 6 feet, and Manton is definitely taller, so probably that explains it.

How are you going to get them to co-ordinate the overall look? Will you effectively be "project-managing" this build to ensure they do or do the tailors in question know each other already and are happy to work together to get you something you're happy with?

Whatever, I'm interesting in hearing how all this works out!

What will be made first, the vest or the trouser?

Make sure they are cut in the same direction on the cloth.

I have seen great examples of well fitting vests and high rise trousers made by Italians... But maybe we have different expectations of how high a vest should be cut. Still, this example should be high enough:

Vasilis and I say they can.

Are you saying the Italians can't make a vest with drape?
