Though, of course, if this was a contest in Southern trad, membership in the ULC would be grounds for automatic disqualification. Fortunately, it's not.

The underlying principle is, it's not trad to wear the insignia of schools/clubs/regiments, anything really, that you are not personally affiliated with.

So wearing Polo and not owning a horse would disqualify someone?

I feel there's a great deal of understood pretentiousness associated with any logo'd item you wear on the outside, and I think that disqualifying someone for one instance of it (wearing a family ring of someone else's family) but not another (I've never played polo in my life, and in fact, don't even know what polo is but I still wear "polo" shirts with the horse and mallet) seems strange to me.

No, wearing Polo disqualifies you because it is a poseur, phony-trad brand that no real trad would ever wear.

I called the Admissions office at PAA today, and guess what? They said they have no record whatsoever of a "zjpj83" having ever matriculated at the school.

You are therefore DISQUALIFIED.

zjpj83, I have some questions for you:

where are the cuffs on your trousers?
why are the jacket lapels so wide?
where is the third button on your jacket?
no patch pockets? darted?
why do the shoulders look padded?

I'd say it's an updated traditional look at best.
