My sample is probably biased towards college age kids.

It was hilarious when it was my students and they were trying to show off/flirt/whatever. Ignoring their displays drove them nuts. Silly 18 year old girls, I know your little tricks!

I pick my nose while I'm driving because I'm surrounded by my steel cage of doom. If I lose control (of the nose or the car) OTHER people get hurt.
If I picked my nose while walking I'd wind up in the hospital for a broken nose, broken finger, and needing the one extracted from the other.

that and for some reason I just really don't give a **** about what other drivers think. Pedestrians? sometimes kinda a bit. Drivers? its already an adversarial relationship.
