Brought $62 worth of delicious French cheeses from Murray's and some baguettes to a friend's Bastille Day bbq. He never took them out of his fridge for the 2.5 hours we were there, while serving us black overcooked burgers and dry burned sausages. I suggested to add the cheese to the random salads that were displayed but he thought it was better to wait for "after the burgers"
Maybe they were too stinky for your (american?) friend?

What Americans throw a Bastille Day party? He is French of course, and loves good cheese as much as I do (even more apparently!)
