I'd take on MC...Wouldn't mind some of those Tom Ford suits with wide lapels

Only thing I don't do is ties and or anything that constricts my neck. I don't know how you guys do it

Honestly I think you'd look better without a tie (if wearing a suit, like your MMM suit fits). Fits the caribbean vibe.

Does that mean the other 20% of the time top button is buttoned and tie is tightened as you are in some sort of powered-up "for serious" mode??

You will be suprised as to how terribly difficult that **** is. Even many regular MC posters aren't good at doing so.

Even good regular posters. sinnedk, what you're suggesting is akin to saying that it's easy to follow basic rules with jeans and a t-shirt. We see here on a regular basis that basic ≠ easy. With a limited the range of expression, the smaller details have greater significance.

Ok maybe i overgeneralized this. But i feel if you get a suit that fits well, match shirt/tie well, shoes, nice belt, you are good to go.

What would MC think if @RegisDB9 posted a shirtless/scarf-only fit in their WAYWT? Under a Tom Ford suit.

He would get pushback. With one of his sweaters, I think he'd probably get 15-20 thumbs (pretty well received, in other words).

Haha. I'm not quite sure if that is the mode that I am in, but I guess yeah, about 20% of the time Im buttoned up tie tight. Okay, maybe it's only 10% of the time.

These are actually kinda Western-y. They're 1960's "campus" boots inspired by New Mexico or something.

The hardest part about MC is getting the cut, fit and proportions right for the jacket and trousers. There's a lot that goes into that - the rise of the trousers, the width of the leg, the break at the ankle, the flare of the jacket skirt, the shape of the quarters, the height of the gorge, etc. But then other things can be tricky, like the size and shape of the shirt collar and how it relates to the size and shape of the lapel. The width of the tie and how that relates to the lapels of the jacket. That doesn't even begin to touch on colors, patterns, textures. And then there's general taste level.
