I guess it's too pleb for some people to talk about the merits of watches that cost less than $600 or the companies that make them in the watch p0rn thread. I missed the part where "watch p0rn thread" is mutually exclusive with talking about watch companies that make watches for people under the age of 35 who don't have the same taste and money of most 60 year olds. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go change my pocket square and redo my FIH tie knot, lest I appear of lesser worth and character than the fine men of SF's MC section and this thread.

Lots of talk about Seiko's in here, and the cheaper ones, too. No one gets upset.

Where I think a good point is made is the discussion (arguments) rather than posting photos. Guilty. Should have checked the first post. I'll 'comply'. But as for price? Stupid. My new CW watches are pornographic in their beauty. I've seen a few fugly $$$$$ watches in this thread. They were more like chubby chaser Appreciation. Beauty in the eye, and all that bollocks. As for some of the ugly, lizard skin freaky **** in shoe 'Appreciation'? Ugh!

And, as far as complaints about the essence of WAYWR? Glass houses. 'Lifetstyle shots' (which I happen to like) changed that thread eons ago.

As for the 'Appreciation' threads? Maybe do what I do, compliment stuff you like and ignore the stuff you don't. Just an idea.

Well put. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So is Appreciation. I wouldnt wear a Tourbilion or a JLC if you paid me because I find them repulsive looking. That said, most of you would find my black and silver on PVC 42mm watch atrocious as well. Price is irrelevant. 10pm is 10pm. I would much rather own a $100 casio that looks great then a 20K Rolex just because its a rolex. If the watch is expensive and appeals my tastes, ok, but for the most part cost and beauty are two separate things.

Bespoke alligator watch band

I was in Paris a few weeks ago and picked up my custom order from Atelier du Bracelet Parisien. They have a fairly impressive selection of skins available (e.g. sharkskin, stingray, and even emu!), and the particular one I chose was a specialty tanned alligator with square scales. The base color is charcoal, although depending on the lighting and what I'm wearing there are hints of blue, purple and brown. I've tried to capture some of the color in the below pics, with limited success. Note on the last pic the single pinhole punched through after mounting on my watch and fitting to my wrist - a really nice touch, IMHO. This strap really transformed the watch!

Overall, I'm very pleased with my ABP experience and will order again.

Absolutely, and in fact that was my original intention. Turns out that the Lange deployants don't suit my wrist very well and feel uncomfortable. Plus, on this particular watch I find myself staring at the movement frequently enough that the pin and buckle work better for me. Saved me some $$$ too!

Cruiser??

I'm with the others. I have a nice collection of watches but dont think anyone really wants to see my Baume and Mercier's or marathon GSAR. I am however, picking up a new GMT master II on saturday that I might post.

You can view the entire range as well as pricing information here: http://www.abp-paris.com/

They have an extensive gallery with a number of Panerai combinations, so that should provide you with some inspiration. You'll have to be very precise with your measurements, but I found the ordering process overall to be quite straightforward. In the notes section just mention that you will pick up in person to have the strap mounted and the pinhole punched.

Unfortunately, they just raised prices 2-3 weeks ago...
