I love the display case backs. I suppose if I had a classic Reverso with a solid case back I might have it engraved or enamelled. My AP - sadly - has a solid case back...

i am very grateful for what i have, as it far exceeds what i deserve.

+1. sapphire backs are my faves. i have toyed with having the plate engraved by JLC. im afraid tho of what it would cost.

It's not hugely expensive. I have the JLC price list for 2012, and you're looking at a minimum of >£120 for 2 letters, depending on the font. If you had enamelling or a bespoke design probably much more.

thats over 400 bucks. not cheap for me right now. also, it like to go all out with some kind of crest or something. not that my family has one lol.
