Apologize if someone else has posted this WSJ story about how this woman built a $240M company in 7 years starting with what we do....livin' the dream.
It's kinda inspirational...

Bravo. This is the best that anyone has ever said it."Originally Posted by dahl5yankees A 2013 article on Watchdog.org reported that Goodwill's tax returns showed that more than 100 Goodwills pay less than minimum wage, while simultaneously paying more than $53.7 million in total compensation to top executives.[27] The former CEO of the Goodwill of Southern California was the highest paid Goodwill executive in the country. He received more than $1.1 million in total compensation. "In 2011, the Columbia Willamette Goodwill, one of the largest in the country, says it paid $922,444 in commensurate wages to approximately 250 people with developmental disabilities. These employees worked 159,584 hours for an average hourly wage of $5.78. The lowest paid worker received just $1.40 per hour" Attached photo of my son Ryan, age 25, was taken this morning as we were leaving for Church. He has autism and some brain damage resulting from long periods of low oxygen as a premie. He works in a structured workshop that pays him about $2.50 an hour, depending on what he produces. Plus I pay $450 a month for him to work there. He is now ready to be mainstreamed into a job. So when you see the low hourly wage like in the goodwill example above, it is more than likely a remedial wage for very low performing adults. That is a good thing, not a bad thing. Independently, the CEO could be over paid, but there are clients, like my son, whose parents won't pay the $450 a month, and a place like goodwill still provides a safe, supervised work location that over time, could lead to a main stream job. People like Ryan need organizations such as Goodwill and the community benefits from the opportunities and training they provide. regards: jb
Nice hemline. We all know the reason why men can't do the same thing: aside from the guys on this site (who couldn't even fill the seats in a high school gym), almost every other man out there spends 3 minutes/year shopping for clothes. And then god forbid if he pays, gasp, $60 for a pair of jeans. But for the other sex, daddy's credit card knows no limits.
Happy Offensive Generalization Day?
Since Org mentioned he was in the Washington area sifting through $150 Hickey Freeman suits, I thought someone from SF should keep watch over Louisville in his absence. Y'know, to make sure that awesome clothing ends up in the hands of those that can properly appreciate it.
I nominated myself for this responsibility.
Nothing earth-shattering, but some nice pickups. Struck out at three stores, this all comes from one stop. Found a couple of nice BB sweaters. That half zip is going to be great in a few months.
Two pairs of Bills khakis. Second pair of cords I've found, these are much lighter weight.
First Harris Tweed of the season. "Operation: Cover a Smaller Geographic Area With Tweed Than Wes" is getting closer.
My wife brought these over and asked if they were any good. She would have passed but noticed they were made in England. Loake chelsea boots. First for me.
Yes. Just not super great. This PZ is good? I have passed on it a couple times recently. Thought it was nothing special.
I picked up a Hilditch & Key button down a couple weeks ago. Fits me OK but it could stand to be taken in some. I forget if H&K is one of the better brands of UK shirts or is on par with TM Lewin, Tyrwhitt etc.
Also on the BB Silver label...I always thought that was the premium line before the started the "Golden Fleece" lines.
Golden Fleece predates the Silver Label by a long shot.I picked up a Hilditch & Key button down a couple weeks ago. Fits me OK but it could stand to be taken in some. I forget if H&K is one of the better brands of UK shirts or is on par with TM Lewin, Tyrwhitt etc.

I was thinking the modern incarnation Golden Fleece written in red. Golden Fleece and 346 have been around forever.
