Nothing new today, just one rack on wheels with polo/rlx crap. Talked to a buddy of mine who works at the store for a long time. Said they have about 35 boxes of PSR in the back that they don't want to put out full of RRL from recent stuff like Irish Country/Kon Tiki to old stuff from 2010/2011.

They put it out whenever, it just sits there because they don't want to attract resellers. They blacklist every bulk purchaser and pretty much see you from the cameras as soon as you walk in and start informing everyone on the floor to watch out for you through their walkie talkies.

Store mgr at my store was recently fired for something bad like stealing merchandise and some other rude supervisors were also fired at my store/demoted which makes me happy since most of them have no business working in retail.

if you want to find PSR the top 3 volume/sales polo outlets are NY, Orlando and Sawgrass, they get by far the most RRL.

They will have to put those out eventually. PSR boxes are bigger than regular outlet stuff boxes and PSR will keep coming in every 2-3 weeks. They will either put a limit only on RRL or something. Store associates don't always have their eye on cctv, maybe one of their manager might recognize a reseller and inform others. I think limiting resellers really depends on management, even though company might not like it but some GMs love resellers because they get rid of old stuffs that are sitting in their back and sometimes GMs help resellers to get things from the back. But this only applies to major tourist stops for example, tour buses(im talking 15-20 buses everyday) always stop at this outlet everyday and it is full of Asian people(they love logos, pony, something they can show off) And they don't buy stuff like RLX or RRL because there is no pony on them. So for this outlet, getting rid of PSR is little bit of problem. There are two Orlando outlet and it only takes 10 minutes between two stores and I believe they both carry PSR if i remember correctly. Woodbury is indeed the number one best sales outlet in US(or maybe in the world). I just saw that there is Polo outlet opening one in Vegas south location which is also 15 minutes away from the north one. I wonder if south one will carry PSR since Primm carries PSR too.

Also forgot to mention they closed the RL luxury store at Sawgrass. It is being replaced with a Polo Boys. From what I heard RL is going to stop opening new luxury stores and shut down or convert existing luxury stores that do not meet their sales quotas.

While it's true that tourists look for the pony, a lot of people flock the 75% off rack to buy anything cheap and RRL has been around for a while now that a lot of tourists are becoming aware of it's prestige. RRL jeans, workshirts, sweaters, they don't care only about label but also about cheap prices. Some look at the $495 price tag of an RRL sweater and still can't afford it at 75% off, others find $50 for RRL jeans and $32 for any plaid/check/stripe shirt a steal.Also I see a lot of Russian/French(Canadian) /German/Scandinavian/South American tourists at my stores and not as many Asians as those other groups, though, there are still plenty of them.

There are indeed 2 big outlets in Orlando pretty close to each other, ebayers katerosev, causer, sandi, etc, etc, etc, live near in that area. Total goldmine. I wonder if their purchases run smoothly or if they're also being given a hard time by mgmt. I'm sure they have several people hitting different registers at different times of day but after a while mgmt will catch on to what they're doing and recognize the same faces and make worse restrictions.

A GM that will bring PSR out from the back to sell to me without a hassle or bad attitude?? Ha, that will be a nice day...

Indeed, but bad part is that GM got arrested because of child Appreciation distribution... Poor guy lol

The problem is: unless you go every day, you're going to be beaten by the resellers every time. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that I can occasionally pick up something from a reseller cheaper than mail order direct from RL, but at the same time I also miss the fact that I can occasionally find some bargains at outlets. I recently visited three outlets during a vacation to the USA (Orlando & NYC) and found the sales racks had been so picked over that there was nothing left of worth at all, and left empty-handed. Shame. B.

Hey guys,

We just started to receive our next group for the spring/summer. They did a great hand knit cardigan with the large indian head on the back. It's a fantastic piece, but it is a little pricey at 1200. This stuff hasn't hit any of the sales floors yet or online, so if you are true RRL collector, let me know.

I'll try to get of photo of it today and post it up tonight.

Maybe a Belstaff? I bought a waxed RRL jacket last year and while I still appreciate it (wear it every day) I definitely think the quality is lacking when compared to a Barbour. The main issue I've found with the RRL is the waxed cotton around the cuffs is cracking slightly with wear. It's hardly noticeable at the moment but has the potential to look pretty scruffy. In your case, I think a Belstaff would probably last longer...

Rhythm-Fuk is spending 3 weeks in NYC right now, going back and forth to the various large outlets on the east coast.

add obx104 to the list of Orlando area ebay resellers. I'd say most of them live out there or specifically travel to those 2 outlets.

I've got a Belstaff Roadmaster which is very similar to that linked RRL. Same color, but it's not a heavy waxed cotton but a lighter weight skyoil fabric. It's also not fully lined. No idea if they still make it. The one I got was from J Crew. I think original price was about the same as that RRL.

That RRL style with the slanted breast pocked appears to be copying the Belstaff Trialmaster/Barbour International. The Belstaffs are a somewhat trim fit. I have no experience with the International but it is supposed to be a trimmer than usual fit for Barbour. There are also the trim fitting To Ki To Barbours out there. The standard Barbour Internationals run about $420. The Belstaffs I think are a bit more than the RRL. If it matters, for the most part the Belstaffs are made in Italy and the Barbours are made in England.

Hoit, both Belstaff and Barbour sell rewaxing goo. It looks messy though.

I've been eyeing on Rhythm-Fuk's blog and saw that announcement. For some reason, I think they know exact(or very close) cycle when RRL hits the outlets.

I think their focus is to arrive right before the end of RRL store sales when prices are 40-50% off and then additional xx% and then they hang around for another week or two and try their luck at Polo/ Barneys outlets, that's how they maximize their profits. In the past they typically spent 2 weeks per trip but this year they're here for 3 weeks because they're having a harder time finding RRL on sale.

Japanese sell most stuff above MSRP so acquiring during first sale 30-40% off is still a good deal for them and that's why all the nice pieces XS,S become sold out before bigger discounts or before they're sent to outlets. Rhythm pays top dollar for many of it's handbags, belts, boots, leathers, denim but will only purchase certain things at outlet prices. They have a great understanding of what they can and can't sell for a high price and in a fairly short amount of time.
