This is a remarkable story that I came across while reading about some largely uncontacted indigenous tribes in Brazil. Officials have established that this man is the last member of his tribe, which was seemingly wiped out in 1996 by loggers. He is semi-nomadic, moving among huts that have holes dug in the middle of them for an unknown purpose.

Well worth reading.

So there's someone else out there getting laid as seldom as you. Perhaps you both feel a little less lonely now.

^^lol

I read about this a while ago, he attacked some gov. officials that tried to make contact right? Even after that, they decided to leave him the **** alone. Pretty cool, too bad they wiped out his tribe.

Advanced societies invariably have subsumed whatever indigenous populations they've encountered, determining those tribes' fates for them. But Brazil is in the middle of an experiment. If peaceful contact is established with the lone Indian, they want it to be his choice. They've dubbed this the "Policy of No Contact." After years of often-tragic attempts to assimilate into modern life the people who still inhabit the few remaining wild places on the planet, the policy is a step in a totally different direction. The case of the lone Indian represents its most challenging test.

I think women who have met the g33k also routinely adopt the "Policy of No Contact."

Funny thing is, when I saw on the main page that you had posted in this thread, I immediately knew that you did so to make a joke about me.

Story reminds me closely of Ishi--the last truly "wild" Indian in North America, who turned up in a corral in Northern California in 1911 and lived out his final years in a museum in San Francisco. His skills with the bow and arrow played a significant role in the revival of archery as a sport. A sad story, Ishi's was, but at least it had a peaceful ending.
