I've never realized how expensive this things are until you started talking bout them. Where I currently live every window has those between the glass blinds.

On the storm door front, we do not have them on the new house but I may put a screen door on the backdoor but think the dogs will tear the screen in the summer.

Got a quote for 350' of aluminum fencing, what a hard pill to swallow after putting down 20% for a house.

Also thinking about the new house. We are partially wooded and have a huge tree that was cut down and took out a bunch of other trees with it. Any ideas on the best/cheapest way to get rid of this? We don't own trucks so we would have to pay to haul things off.

The cheapest way would be to burn it. Think you could get away with it?

Unless it's in the way, leave it. That deadfall is as important to woods as are the living trees.

Not in the way and cannot really burn it unless my neighbors wanted their house burned down in the process. Was thinking a free firewood thing as there are always people on the side of the road selling firewood.

What kind of wood? People will come get it if it's decent for firewood.

Train the dog. Mine broke one by jumping at it because he saw another dog out for a walk, and it bent the screen body. For our back door, we have a bell, and he has to ring it to be let out. That way he doesn't scratch the frame or jump at the screen.

A $40 chainsaw rental from Home Depot would make pretty short work of those trees, too.

You can get an electric chainsaw for about $40. With that lot it'd probably come in handy, assuming you can get an electric cord out there.

Do not know the type of wood that is laying around out there. I have thought about a chainsaw but have never used one.

As for the house since we closed today and the house is empty we dropped off our moving trucks. When we pulled up the front yard had about 5 deer just standing there and staring at us like we were invading their home. When I walked around the wooded area I saw signs of deer tracks and droppings which may add to the "just leave it" route so we do not disrupt the wildlife.
