Don't waste your time, everyone ends back up at apc's.

My black diors are the only other jeans I like.

There are so many different kinds of high quality denim on the market these days. It's isn't a heirarchy be any means - there's really something for every taste out there. There are awesome repro styles, modern styles, different kinds of indigo and denim and cuts. There's no end point to the process.

We call those guys that wear R&R, TR, A&F, AE, etc douchebags, but what's a title for females that wear that stuff?

It will end when you're satisfied. I can't see myself spending more than 200$ on a pair of jeans in the near future and I'm happy with what I can get at that price (sometimes full retail, other times with discounts or on sale).

I think that the general consensus is that denim quality follows the law of diminishing returns and that beyond about 300$ you're mostly paying for a brand name, with certain notable exceptions.

I'm also curious as to why you want to get Jil Sander jeans because no one has ever really discussed them here to my knowledge. I started off with APC and am glad I did.

Lol....

I think that fit is the most important part and even though many people on the forums consider APC's a "gateway" jean, the new standards happen to be my favorite fit from the jeans I have and the rest of my highly priced jeans are collecting dust.... So just buy what you like and fits properly and don't fall into the trap from reading threads on the internet.... Use them to guide you in picking the correct size you can find it very useful.

Agreed. You're much better off with a $30 pair of Levis 501 shrink-to-fit then any of that True Religion, 7FAM, etc. horseshit.

its not about where you buy clothes if they look good. It just so happens that "jil sander" and other high fashion brands are kind of an acquired taste everyone gets after a little while

its just as simple as do you wanna spend 100.00 on **** or quality if quality then go to apc or LVC... its not elitist its not being overly fashionable its just a good decision... nothing more nothing less...

i think that in some ways that 'the food chain of jeans' can end where it started. For example, I wore 501's then branched out and tried new things as I learned about different quality/price Japanese denims and european cuts, however, recently I had an old pair of 501's tailored and they fit wonderful and the old fade is perfect...

but, to deny the 'exclusivity factor' or the 'i'm different/better than the other guy because of ____' would be silly... i think that, unchecked, it can send somebody on the never ending path to credit card debt via denim.

im saying that once people's style evolve the more expensive and higher end fashion brands happen to be the ones with the lines that better suit that style. No one liked dior when they were 12, but once you are involved with fashion long enough most of the time more expensive brands are the more appealing ones
