Was there a clip at the end of the credits? I didn't stay that long...

I guess I never really GOT these movies...I was nuts for Die Hard, but always thought the other big action movies were really bad. I did laugh at the "I'm hanging a pirate" line...and the dude using that shotgun. The rest...well...was boring.

I don't know how they came up with the names of some of these characters in this movie. I had commented earlier about the oddity of having a character named "Lee Christmas" (after an early 20th century American soldier of fortune in Central America).

Now I see that the Stallone character is called "Barney Ross." Barney Ross, for those of you who don't know it, was a great boxing champion who held three titles during the 1930s. He later joined the Marines during WWII and won a Silver Star for heroism on Guadalcanal.

Barney Ross was Jewish, one of the greatest Jewish fighters in an era that spawned many fine Jewish fighters. My grandfather said Abe "The Little Hebrew" Attell was the best fighter he ever saw. I just read that Bat Masterson said Abe was the second best, after Wyatt Earp. Attell sullied his reputation in the notorious "Black Sox" scandal in which gambling interests tried to fix the World Series.

They were aliases. I forgot to add that I actually liked Rourke's role...even the cheesey downer part actually had some depth.

Actually, I think because of the contrast to the rest of it, that part was really emotionally intense. The monologue itself was terrible, but Rourke really fuckin' delivered.

Saw this on Friday; went in without much in the way of expectations and I enjoyed it.

Not great in terms of script or acting, but some cool scenes where **** gets blown up and a couple of funny lines. Not much else to say, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I don't regret going.

+100. it hurts to say this because Ivan Drago was the pinnacle of 80's awesome - but that's the best thing Lundgren's ever done.

Saw it this afternoon. Solid two hours of gunfire, explosions and male bonding.

Kind of like Oceans 11 with explosions.

I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Did you guys see the scene where Terry Crews was running down the hall placing the explosives on the columns as a homage to the scene in The Dirty Dozen where Jim Brown runs across the open ground dropping grenades?
