Here is one, the iconic Vostok Komandirskie tankist .... can get one for under $40 from ebay or directly from Russia.

Oh, you did not mean that kind of tank??? I'll take my hat ;-)
Seriously, how about a JLC Reverso? In all of its varieties? Perhaps not truly a tank but close enough .... and an all time classic.
Provided Poloboy has not really chased you off ....

you might look to baume & mercier. they have a 18k and you might be able to find a 14k by looking to the internet watch sellers. might also look to the website at timezone. looks remarkably like a cartier tank - at a much better price point. also might look to the cartier must collection - goldtone and at a better pricepoint.

You could get a Cartier Tank watch, it is easily the most iconic. These can be had second hand for non-outrageous amounts.

Why suggest these watches to a guy in the Fossil price range?

You can't be both stylish and conservation?
???? Assuming your "conservation" should spell "conservative": Ever seen Sean Connory as "Bond, James Bond."?

Rather stylish, rather conservative. Perhaps not fashionable, The Roger Moore incarnation of the agent was arguably the more fashion forward, and therefore now the more dated looking.

Then again, what do I know .....

Sorry for the spelling error, I was moving too fast.

stylish per Webster's: conforming to the current style or fashion

conservative per Webster's: traditional in style

James Bond is usually wearing high-end conservative clothing.

Certainly one can be both stylish and conservative. Style is an attitude one assumes with regard to dress and lifestyle, while I see fashion as a reflection of the coming and goings of certain cuts, patterns and materials in clothing. Style never passes away, as fashions do. My style is conservative which is the same now as in the 40s.

As to the questions of price range: I certainly did not indicate I was looking in the Fossil range. I was given a Fossil tank as a gift. Price is not the object so much as value.

Thank each of you who responded in a gentlemanly way and have not fallen into the habit of boorishness which so often befalls some who are assured of their anonymity simply because they are posting rather than speaking face to face. It has been my experience that gentlemen remain the same whether speaking or writing, able to resist the opportunity to secretly behave as a cad.
