Bitcoin holders might have to split the global GDP with these guys. Discuss.

Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of credit cards (designed in 1950s). The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people started they are allocating Qs to people that sign up now (amount drops as more people join). Signing up is free and they only ask for your name and an email. There's nothing to lose but if this becomes a leading payment method your Qs can be worth a lot. If you missed getting bitcoin, you wouldn't want to miss this.

Please pyramid me in please please.

Ah, good call otc. Here’s another link for anyone who wants it. They sent me more so this is good for about ten folks.
Their write-up is kind of unconvincing - “it’ll be worth a lot because credit card companies are worth a lot and once we actually design our thing it’ll totally be better than credit cards.” So I’m not predicting anything comes of it, but what the hell

Here is my invite link: https://initiativeq.com/invite/HfuxIhkpm

I’ll check occasionally and verify anyone signing up with this link.

I'll admit, I haven't read all that much. So whats the downside? Seems like the "too good to be true" of no money invested but the opportunity to have an extra couple thousand in like 5-10 years. There's gotta be some sort of downside right?

nah, at least I didn't see anyone's email. Just a name.

The company gets your email...but that's not particularly valuable these days.

Of course, very early bitcoin mining was also too good to be true...

I think the downside is pretty limited -- giving up your email address and letting some creepy SF guy know your real name, but I'd say the upside "opportunity" is pretty iffy at best. The description of their business plan and how they came up with their "valuation target" read like a B+ 8th grade project. As far as I can tell, at this point they have no product and no concrete ideas for their project except "a really cool alternative payment system". Probably powered by cold fusion. At this point, what they have is ... some email addresses. Seems like they're pretty much just trading on the fact that they used to be janitors or something that PayPal to get themselves some attention and credibility. I mean sure, it could pan out, and I signed up because what the hell, but I've seen nothing to suggest that it's anything more than a total flyer and probably worthless.
As far as upside opportunities, it's probably even lamer than an early-stage pyramid scheme because we don't get any money for signing people up unless some extremely remote contingencies totally beyond our control are satisfied years down the road.
So sign up!
