Sutor Mantellasi question

I am interested in a pair of black Norweigan toed shoes for evening casual elegant wear. Something that will bridge the gap between loafers and cap-toes. STP has this pair from Sutor Mantellasi. I know we've discussed SM a lot lately and I realize this is the lower end of the line, as compared to the end that runs to 1k. My question, and I haven't been able to find it answered via search: How does these compare to, say the Alden Norwegian toe shoe in black, which is another model I've looked at?
