Brooks Brothers offers suits in 42XL. They also have 41L but I do not think they have 41XL.

42XL jackets are fine for a man of 6'6" provided he wants to look like every other schlub with a too-long suit coat. The only reason a man of the OP's height would need an XL is if the sleeves on the long are too short, or he has a disproportunately long torso.

I'm a mere 6'3", but have a similar challenge to Mr. K. with regards to lapels and classic tailoring.

I suspect the reason he's wearing that thin lapel fashion forwardy suit is that the fashion forward suits tend to be cut slimmer, while the more classic suits tend to be cut like boxes.

I tried on a few jackets at BB the other day, not surprisingly the Fitzgerald - while still needing to be taken in - fit best through chest and shoulder. I would prefer wider lapels, but choices are limited.

This one is Paul Smith. But I am not sure which line.

I had a similar experience at BB. I am interested in the Fitzgerald as well.

I am definitely not sold on this suit. Just the first picture I have.

If you're a mid-size, you're likely going to get a better fit sizing down than up (40L rather than 42L if you're a 41). I'm a 45 and typically go with a 44 jacket. Might work even better for you since you have a thin build and the bigger jacket is going to make you look even thinner.

Otherwise, the arms and jacket length look reasonable, pants definitely need to be shortened though.

I'd be careful with the slim fit look if you're VERY tall. Slim fit suits accentuate height. Think Steve Merchant from the British office.

As for the OP, here are the headlines:

- sleeves are too long
- shoulder are too wide
- inseam is too long

It isn't a very flattering cut and it seems a bit of a fashion forward suit. Go for something of a more classic cut with wider lapels, straight pockets, then have it taken it at the waist etc if need be.

Thanks very much for the advice. I'll keep those points in mind.

I am the same height as you at 6'6", but 20 pounds heavier and I am a 45XL MTM.
To my eye, the jacket seems to be short, but again I am 60 and not into the latest fashion trend.
At your height, I would think you next a 40 xl suit.

Most 42L jackets will be long enough for a man of 6'6". I'm an inch shorter, and most traditional (i.e. not fashion forward) 42L jackets cover my butt. That's really all the length you need.
