Living Daylights first act (pre-credits + song) was one of the best Bond stories ever. Duran Duran included.

I love the Timothy Dalton movies. No argument.

Agree - really don't understand the bad rep.

And FWIW, thought that Brosnan was an overly skinny weeny. Sharp dresser perhaps, but not physical enough to be a Bond.

Agreed. Brosnan couldn't punch his way out of his fat wife's uterus.

Bond fanatic here......Since we're on the subjects of favorite/least favorite Bonds

I must say, I liked Bronsan. Definitely had the debonair look, but unfortunately had weak scripts. Goldeneye was his best outing with TWINE in a close second.

Connery is Connery....moving on.

Lazenby was Lazenby...moving on......Although OHMSS is one of favorite Bond films (top 3)

Roger Moore. He fit the tone of the movies for the time. I didn't like that they didn't take a more serious tone with him save for a couple of movies. For that reason The Man With The Golden Gun is my favorite from him (Yeah, I know)

Timothy Dalton *sigh* I liked Timothy Dalton, I really did. Something was amiss with his tenure though. As with Sean Connery and OHMSS, I WISH we could of seen Dalton in Goldeneye. The "playfulness" of that script with the seriousness of Dalton's portrayal would of been golden. Which brings me to.....

Daniel Craig. My favorite Bond. I refer to him as my Bond. He gives a Bond that us average height, muscular guys can look to. He also has the acting gravitas to pull off the emotion that his scripts demand. I love how Broccoli and Wilson is showing us the brutality that someone like Bond has to deal with and Craig quite convincing in that vein. I can't see Bronsan wiping the bathroom floor with a guy then drowning him in the sink. I can't see Dalton choking a guy on top of a train as it moves through Turkey. All the other ones pale in comparison to DC, with Connery in a very close second (you wouldn't believe how long it took to arrive at that opinion)

Casino Royale- Classic. Perfect in every way.
Quantum of Solace- Watchable, I remember being disappointed after the midnight showing on opening night, the 'Tosca' sequence saved it. I'm curious to why DC was told to drop the muscle and the weight. I think the muscular look works for him. Perhaps it was to pull off those Tom Ford pieces.
Skyfall- It really grew on me. I was indifferent at first. It's now in my top 3. Hated Newman's ****** score. Mendes was excellent and I'm glad he's coming back. The age is starting to catch to Craig, which brings me back to his body type. I think the weight and muscle could help with craggy appearance.

Ah well, can't have it all. But I feel sorry for the poor chap who has to follow him.

I haven't seen any of the earlier Bond movies, except when they came on TV because they were old ass movies when I was younger, at which point I promptly lost interest because, well, young kids can't stand old movies, lol.

But yeah, I grew up with Brosnan as 007 and he's my favorite. Probably blasphemy to you all, but he's the actor I'm most familiar with and used to .

Anyway, saw Skyfall recently. Thought it was terrible. Weird, almost. The plot seemed weird, the action wasn't as intense, and again, the plot was just weird, especially at the end when Bardem could have easily just killed M but got super creepy about it. I mean, the dude was willing and ready to pump her full of lead when she was in the court room and then he got all ******* weird at the last minute, just to give Bond enough time to throw a stupid knife into his back.

Lame.

i didn't realize this until my brother told me, but Skyfall is kind of like a really intense version of Home Alone

I grew up with Brosnan too, but the only decent movie from that period was Goldeneye. Some of the others are just excruciating to watch in retrospect. North Koreans disguised as British millionaires? Space lasers trying to zap surf boards down an ice tidal wave? Madonna? Awful, just awful.

Spot on, sir. Goldeneye was by far my favorite too, but the later ones were just awful. I mean, I still enjoyed them when I was younger because 007 was (is) the ****, but now that I look back on them.. awful.

Also, Goldeneye on N64?!?! **** YEA :slayer:
