I discussed the welt option with Patrik. My initial preference was a flat welt and he agreed that in the dark oak it would probably look better. He felt the storm welt was better suited for the country calf options.

The flat welt does give the boot a somewhat dressier appearance. I have seen this boot with a storm welt in country calf and it is KILLER - but a bit more casual while still being quite similar overall. Whole point of MTO is having it your way.

Nevis in normal calf = flat welt
Nevis in Country Calf = storm welt

...my two cents. Also, I have large feet just like stmaier, and a storm welt will always look bulkier on guys with large feet, this has to be taken into consideration.

Sounds about right to me too. I have UK 9-9.5, and I am still trying to figure out if a storm welt would be bad with this size. What's your two cents on this?

For those considering Nevis in mahogany country calf, I believe this is a stock version so you should be able to buy it without MTO fee.

I wear that size and I don't think teh storm welt looks bad at all. Plus the boot we were both looking at with the storm welt was in this size and looked pretty awesome to me. If both versions were sitting on a table, I'd frankly have a hard time choosing. It would just come down to which fit better with my wardrobe and intended wear - something a bit dressier or a bit more casual.

The Edward Green Nevis will be about 7200 SEK ex VAT (~$1110 USD) if we do it as a GMTO, as a single MTO it will be 8600 SEK ex VAT (~$1325 USD).

I would likely have to go single MTO due to Vass osloer in oxblood . . . . I've been wondering how this boot would turn out in almond country calf haf sole
