I'm looking for an overcoat I can wear over a suit, and I've had my eye on J. Crew's Mayfairs for a while...

1. First of all, do you think this is a good style of such a coat?

2. I've been trying to research the value of Thinsulate, and without too much success; is Thinsulate worth the extra weight of the coat?

3. I'm 5'6" and about 125 lbs and a size 30 waist; do you guys have any sizing guesses/suggestions?

Thanks!

Thigh length overcoats generally make shorter guys look even shorter. I wouldn't get it.

Eh, more like coats that run past the knee. Thigh length is usually fine for shorter guys, and makes a big difference in warmth factor

Also, where to find those docs? I've been looking for some beater boots to wear in the rain.

I've been eyeing that julius knit or whatever for a while, I just don't know how I feel about the drawstrings hanging down the front

Silent jacket looks good, I'd go for it. And yeah, if I buy the julius my first move will be to cut off the drawstrings.

Hey all,

thinking about getting this shirt (RRL):

But it's pretty expensive (almost 200 euro) so I'm not sure it's "worth it". What do you guys think?
