Are their seconds just imperfections with the leather? Nothing with the fit?
Correct. I've got a few pairs of AE seconds (grew up where they are made) and honestly it's rare to even pick out what makes it a second.
I'd vote "no". It looks too much like a bad varsity jacket, and I hate varsity jackets despite everyone here loving them. Although the jacket is plain and simple enough to be non-offensive, so no reason to totally hate it either.
