Shoe size question

I have a query that I hope some of the shoe aficionados can answer. I am trying to get the definitive answer as to what is the correct US shoe size equivalent of UK size 10. Some sites say 10.5, other 11, and some as 11.5?

I would like to take advantage of the Bennies sale, and other opportunities I have found through this forum, but I am unsure if the items I select will fit.

Perhaps some of you have bought UK size 10 shoes on your trips here, and can tell me what size do you get back in the US?

First of all, Bennies will list the U.S. size. I picked up a pair of Grenson's listed on Bennies site at 10.5's and loe and behold they are 10.5 US. Interestingly enough, the shoes must have been for the US market -- mine aren't Paul Stuart's though -- because 10.5 is the handwritten size in the shoe.

Second, the accepted standard is 1/2" size up for US (10 UK/10.5 US). Italian sizing is a whole different matter.
