Looks black. But don't start by making a big stink. Start by making a polite but firm statement that they are not as ordered, that you need them replaced, and that you have a deadline.
Leather soul and EG are pretty likely to do whatever it takes to make you happy. Tell them exactly what your situation is and let them propose a solution that works for you.
Of course, if they don't propose a solution that is satisfactory to you then you should raise a stink!
Under normal circumstances they would offer to remake them and even offer to move them to the front of the queue. But your definite deadline of wedding date is where the bugaboo may be.
BTW - when did you receive that photo? You probably should have noticed this problem then.
As I recall your wedding is outdoors, on a farm of some sort? Are you that guy?

Thanks for the advice guys. I took the photo myself when I received the shoes.

We'll see what happens. I don't actually mind the black - not enough to send them back and risk not having them for the wedding at all. It's more a matter of principal. You pay that much and wait that long, you should get what you ordered....

I really like the stitching on the apron and the welt, and the colour is great on loafers. But I have to say I've always thought cordovan on loafers to be a bit illogical: that stiff, waterproof, bullet-proof heavy duty bad-assery makes sense for boots and country brogues..but why have a summery shoe with a low vamp that is less flexible and more waterproof? Isn't a softer, lighter leather the thing? Cordovan on a little loafer seems to me a bit like putting an offroad suspension lift on a Corvette...

Still, it does look great, and I guess the big welt doesn't make sense either but it looks good. Seriously though, does the extra stiffness cause any problems e.g. heel slippage?

I wear a C&J Harvard loafer in shell...its unlined, light and fits like a buttery slipper. Have got a Vass loafer on P2 Last in Whiskey shell coming next month. If it looks like Macarthurs thats money well spent.

Good to know. The good looks are without question; I just wondered if it would make the loafer a little rigid and affect the way it stays on your foot. Anyway, good luck with the new Vass - look forward to pics.
