No doubt that's why they didn't call you until later this year.

if you have time, check out the fendi flagship store
it's a recently restored and renovated 16th century palazzo
it's very impressive

and although it doesn't get much love here, angelo galasso's "interno 8" is at least an interesting visit (although they have a shop in london too so it may be a bust)

If you could only visit one city, Rome or Naples, to purchase clothing which would you chose? Why? What is the difference in styling, cut between the two cities?

Naples... You seriously cannot go wrong with the soft-shouldered cut of Naples.

Rome has Brioni, but Naples has Kiton!

E-mail the Sartorialist, he'l probably have some gems for you.

You could always try to get your hands on some Cerutti 1881, some Navigare or some Stefanel, if you're looking for some casual Benetton/Lacoste type stuff.

You're wise to eschew the big labels. A family member of mine was surprised to learn, after having met Valentino through a friend in the fashion retail business, that her friend had his store's cashmere pants cut at the same facility as Valentino, but Valentino was charging $400 more per pair because of his label being stitched in what was basically the same quality of pants.

As for Napoli vs Roma, I may be biased due to my family being from Campagnia, but I will venture to suggest that the clothes are just as good, the food is better, and the people are like no other.

Napoli e o fino d'o munno.
